Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced that the government will spend ₹6,839 crore to develop 1,954 villages under the second phase of the Vibrant Villages Programme. He shared this during his two-day visit to Assam. The programme was launched in a village located near the India-Bangladesh border.

The aim of Vibrant Villages 2 is to improve the lives of people living in border areas. The government plans to build better roads, schools, health centres, and other basic facilities. The project will also focus on creating job opportunities and improving digital and communication services in these remote villages.

Amit Shah said that strong and developed border villages are important for national security and growth. He added that the government wants people in these areas to have the same facilities as those in cities.

The programme is expected to boost development and improve living standards in many rural and border villages across the country.
