122 Women Candidates in First Phase Voting Across 18 Districts

The first phase of Bihar elections 2025 began with much enthusiasm among voters. People were seen lining up early in the morning at several polling booths. Women’s participation stood out this time, with 122 women candidates contesting in this crucial phase of voting.

Voting is being held in 121 assembly constituencies across 18 districts, including Patna, Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, and Saran. A total of 45,341 polling booths have been set up for the smooth conduct of elections. The Election Commission has ensured tight security arrangements at all locations.

Polling will run from 7 am to 6 pm, except in certain sensitive constituencies like Simri Bakhtiyarpur, Mahisi, Tarapur, Munger, and Jamalpur, where voting will close at 5 pm. The fate of 1,314 candidates will be sealed in the EVMs today. The Digha assembly constituency has the highest number of voters, while Barbigha has the least.

The active role of women in this election marks a growing sign of empowerment in Bihar politics.
