17 Killed as RTC Bus Collides with Tipper Lorry Near Chevella in Telangana
At least 17 people were killed in a tragic road accident early Monday morning when a Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (RTC) bus collided head-on with a tipper lorry near Chevella in Ranga Reddy district. According to Cyberabad police, the collision occurred around 4.30 a.m. when the bus, traveling from Vikarabad to Hyderabad, rammed into the lorry coming from the opposite direction. Sixteen bodies were shifted to the Area Hospital in Chevella soon after the incident, while another was recovered later around 9 a.m. Several others sustained serious injuries and were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment. Preliminary reports suggest that overspeeding or poor visibility might have caused the crash. Senior police officials and local authorities reached the spot to oversee rescue operations. Telangana Chief Minister expressed condolences to the bereaved families and directed officials to ensure proper medical care for the injured.
