The Election Commission of India has sent 31 IAS officers from Uttar Pradesh in Bihar elections as observers for the 2025 Bihar Assembly polls. These officers will monitor the election process, ensure fair voting, and maintain law and order.
The officers will reach Patna in two batches. The first group of 16 officers, including Ajay Kumar Shukla, Chaitra V, and Om Prakash, will oversee the first phase beginning on November 6. They will inspect polling stations, voter lists, and election materials.
The second batch of 15 IAS officers will arrive on October 19 for the next phase of polling on November 11. Their duty is to supervise fair conduct, monitor expenditure, and ensure voter safety during the election.
This decision strengthens transparency and boosts public confidence in the Bihar Assembly elections.
