The 50kg Ganja Seized Ganjam incident shocked residents near Buduli village on Monday. Police confirmed the 50kg Ganja Seized Ganjam case after spotting a four-wheeler carrying two large sacks of ganja. Officers from Ganjam police and the excise department acted on a tip-off, reached State Highway-17, and intercepted the vehicle before it moved further.

Authorities identified the accused as Bibhuti Nayak from Tikabali and Dushmant Kahar from Phiringia in Kandhamal. Both men allegedly transported the consignment toward Bhubaneswar. Officers estimated the value of the seized ganja at nearly ₹5 lakh. The team checked the vehicle after noticing a sudden diversion, which increased suspicion. Their search confirmed 50 kilograms of dry cannabis stored inside the car.

Excise SI Aliva Majhi said the men planned to deliver the substance to Aska. Police detained both on the spot and informed senior officials. The excise department later produced the accused in court and began tracing their network.

Local residents praised the swift action, saying frequent patrolling helps curb drug trafficking in the region. Officers assured stronger surveillance on major routes to prevent future smuggling attempts. Investigators continue gathering information about possible suppliers and buyers connected to the operation.
