Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann launched Mission Chardi Kalan, a global fundraiser to support recovery efforts after devastating floods. Within 24 hours, AAP MP Vikramjit Singh Sahney pledged Rs 1 crore to the Chief Minister’s Rangla Punjab Fund.
Sahney’s donation is the first major contribution to this campaign. The funds will help restore infrastructure in flood-hit areas. Sahney also donated 50 tractors and 10 JCB machines through his Sun Foundation to help remove silt from villages and towns.
The floods caused widespread damage to Punjab’s roads and bridges. Thousands of kilometers of roads and many bridges were destroyed. The state faces significant financial challenges. The Mission Chardi Kalan campaign aims to raise funds to aid recovery and rebuild vital infrastructure.
NRIs, local philanthropists, and others have already contributed money and goods. This campaign is critical to helping Punjab get back on its feet and recover from the disaster.
