India and Chile Strengthen Bilateral Ties at National Day Celebrations

India and Chile strengthen ties at National Day celebrations. PM Modi and President Boric commit to growing partnership.

Sibi George, Secretary (West) at the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), represented India at Chile’s National Day celebrations in New Delhi. George reaffirmed India’s commitment to strengthening the India-Chile partnership, following the recent roadmap set during meetings between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chilean President Gabriel Boric.

In July, PM Modi met President Boric on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Modi highlighted the growing friendship between the two nations, noting the strong bilateral ties and shared future goals. “India-Chile friendship is getting stronger and stronger!” Modi posted on X.

Earlier, in April, President Boric visited India to celebrate 76 years of diplomatic relations. During the visit, both leaders discussed historical ties, trade linkages, cultural connections, and mutual interest in strengthening the partnership.

PM Modi also appreciated Chile’s participation in the ‘Voice of Global South’ Summits, where both countries have worked to enhance cooperation among developing nations, particularly in areas like global governance reforms and access to clean and green technologies.
