Guntur Schoolgirl Wins National Art Award for “Save Water” Theme
A 13-year-old girl from Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, has achieved national recognition by winning first place in a countrywide art competition focused on the theme “Save Water”. The contest, organized by a central government initiative to promote environmental awareness among schoolchildren, received thousands of entries from across India.
Her artwork creatively illustrated the importance of conserving water for future generations. Judges praised her message clarity, artistic skill, and unique concept. As a result, her drawing will be used in official awareness posters, to be displayed in schools and government campaigns across the country.
Her school held a small celebration in her honor, and local education officials congratulated her for bringing pride to the district. Teachers described her as a dedicated student with a strong interest in both art and social issues. Her achievement has inspired other students in the region to participate in similar competitions.
