Børge Brende, President of the World Economic Forum, has said India and China can gain by improving communication and cooperation.

In an interview with India Today, he noted that while border disputes and rivalry remain, the two nations share regional interests. Working together in trade, technology, and stability could bring big benefits.

Brende pointed to technology and manufacturing as areas for collaboration. He highlighted China’s lead in electric vehicles and renewable energy. These sectors are vital for the global shift to sustainable growth. He suggested that India could learn from China’s strengths while adding value through its growing digital economy.

China dominates in solar panels and EVs. At the same time, India is building its own capacity in green technology and services. With its large market and industrial growth, India could expand production and partner with China in sustainable mobility.

Brende added that cooperation would also raise the global influence of both countries. Their alignment in green energy and trade could reshape Asia’s role in the world economy.

He admitted challenges remain, especially in border tensions. Yet he stressed that with dialogue, both nations could balance competition with collaboration, benefiting Asia and the world.
