P.K. Mishra: IIMs Key to India’s Growth in Amrit Kaal

India Amrit Kaal growth vision highlighted by PM’s Principal Secretary P.K. Mishra at IIM Mumbai convocation, urging reform and capacity building.

Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister P.K. Mishra said India is advancing with courage and confidence during the “Amrit Kaal.” He highlighted that institutions like the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) will play a vital role in building capacity for growth, commerce, and governance.

Speaking at the second annual convocation of IIM Mumbai, Mishra said Prime Minister Modi has set a vision for India in 2047. He stressed the need for reform, performance, and transformation to ensure India becomes a developed country.He told graduates that they have a critical role in shaping the nation’s future. Mishra also pointed to the rapid pace of technological change, including smartphones, robotics, AI, and blockchain, which are transforming how people live and work.

He said capacity building is central to India’s progress and urged IIMs to combine ethics with technology. Mishra praised IIM alumni for their contributions in industry and governance. He advised graduates to adopt resilience, moral values, and the spirit of a “Karma Yogi.”Mishra also noted India’s efforts to attract talent from abroad, citing examples of academics returning to strengthen national capacity-building initiatives.
