The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) strongly hit back at allegations by BJP leader and TTD member Bhanu Prakash Reddy. He claimed over Rs 100 crore was looted from Tirupati temple donation boxes during the YSRCP tenure. YSRCP spokesperson Margani Bharath accused TDP leaders of exploiting Lord Venkateshwara’s name for political gains.
Bharath criticized Chandrababu Naidu and Nara Lokesh for dragging the sacred temple into politics. He said they used it to divert attention from their governance failures. The YSRCP condemned such attempts and called them reckless.
The party highlighted a 2023 case when a TTD employee tried stealing US dollars from Shrivari Humbi. Authorities investigated the matter, and the accused and their family returned assets worth Rs 14.43 crore to TTD. Bharath asked whether the TDP would have returned the assets if a similar theft happened under their rule.
He urged the public to focus on facts and avoid political manipulation of the temple. Bharath said TDP leaders wanted to malign the YSRCP and harm its image. He stressed that the temple should remain sacred and free from political exploitation.
