Yogi Adityanath Launches GST Awareness Campaign to Boost Swadeshi & Festive Economy
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has kicked off a week-long GST Reform Awareness Campaign aimed at promoting recent tax reforms and encouraging the adoption of Swadeshi (locally made) products ahead of the festive season.
Running from September 22 to 29, the campaign targets traders, shopkeepers, and small businesses across the state. Its goal is to raise awareness about the benefits of simplified GST compliance, ease of doing business, and digital invoicing, especially for small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
Yogi Adityanath emphasized that these reforms are part of a broader effort to strengthen the state’s economy, generate employment, and promote self-reliant India (Atmanirbhar Bharat). Special drives, workshops, and street outreach programs are being organized in key marketplaces.
The campaign also focuses on encouraging consumers to choose Indian-made products during the upcoming festivals like Dussehra and Diwali, linking economic nationalism with cultural celebration.
Officials from the GST department and local administration have been mobilized to ensure the campaign reaches every district. The CM called this initiative a “festival of economic empowerment” for small traders and a major step toward inclusive growth
