Canada Arrests Khalistani Terrorist Inderjit Gosal

Khalistani activist Inderjeet Singh Gosal arrested in Canada over weapons possession and links to SFJ organization.

Canadian police arrested Khalistani terrorist Inderjit Singh Gosal, a top aide of Gurpatwant Singh Pannun. He became a key organiser for the US-based Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) after Hardeep Singh Nijjar’s death in June 2023.

Gosal was detained in Ottawa on multiple firearms charges. This is his second arrest in under a year. Last November, he allegedly attacked Hindu-Canadian worshippers at a temple in the Greater Toronto Area. Authorities later released him on conditions.

Gosal is known as Pannun’s right-hand man and personal security officer. India has labelled SFJ a terrorist organisation and declared Pannun an individual terrorist. Officials have registered over 100 cases against SFJ and Pannun, including around 60 in Punjab.

The arrest follows India and Canada’s agreement to strengthen counter-terrorism cooperation. Both nations recently reappointed their high commissioners, signalling a reset in diplomatic relations after tensions over Nijjar’s killing in 2023.

Analysts say the move shows Canada taking a tougher stance on separatist groups operating on its soil. It also strengthens the ongoing efforts to improve India-Canada security ties.
