CU Registrar Emphasizes Importance of GST Awareness
Cluster University Registrar Dr. G. Srinivas emphasized the necessity for every citizen to understand the Goods and Services Tax (GST). He commended the Department of Economics for organizing a session aimed at educating students and faculty about the recent GST reforms. Dr. Srinivas highlighted that awareness of government taxes should begin during academic years.
On Monday, the Department of Economics at Silver Jubilee Government Degree College, under the aegis of Cluster University, conducted a faculty lecture on the impact of GST 2.0. The session focused on the changes in the tax system and the benefits of the new GST policy implemented from that day.
M. Sudhakar, retired Assistant Commissioner of GST from Kadapa, discussed the evolution of India’s tax system and the significance of GST 2.0. He explained how the new GST policy would benefit various sectors and addressed students’ queries regarding the new tax structure.
