Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that he is switching to Zoho’s homegrown platform for documents, spreadsheets, and presentations. The move aims to support the government’s push for Swadeshi products.
Reacting to the announcement, Zoho’s Chief Scientist and Co-founder Sridhar Vembu said the decision boosts morale for engineers who have built the platform over two decades. He added that the team will continue making India proud.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had earlier urged citizens to buy local products during the festive season, highlighting benefits for families, artisans, and youth employment. Vaishnaw’s move aligns with the PM’s vision of ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’.
The adoption of Zoho also supports government initiatives like the “GST Bachat Utsav”, aimed at simplifying business processes, reducing household expenses, and encouraging growth for MSMEs, traders, women, and farmers. Zoho’s success exemplifies India’s ability to create global-standard indigenous technology.
