Mission 60 to Boost Voter Turnout

Bihar Assembly Elections voter turnout campaign

District Magistrates in Bihar will lead a campaign to raise voter awareness for the upcoming Bihar Assembly Elections. The Election Department has launched Mission 60 to increase voter turnout. This program targets 60 polling booths with very low participation.

In the last elections, more than 12 constituencies, including Kumhrar, Bankipur, Digha, Jamalpur, Ara, Bhagalpur, Bihar Sharif, Munger, Warisaliganj, Asthawan, Shahpur, and Gaya, recorded less than 50% voting. Kumhrar had the lowest turnout at only 35.27%. Bankipur and Digha also stayed under 37%.

The Chief Electoral Officer has instructed District Magistrates and Election Officers to run awareness drives and sweep activities. Mission 60 will also ensure smooth voting for women, senior citizens above 85 years, and disabled voters. Special steps will be taken at the identified booths to encourage higher participation.

With this effort, the Election Commission aims to build trust and inspire more people in Bihar to vote in the Assembly elections.
