The Telangana government has released a notification for the management of 2,620 new liquor shops across the state. Applications for these shops will be accepted from tomorrow until October 18, and the lottery draw to determine allotments will be conducted on October 23. The selected applicants can operate the new shops from December 1, 2025, to November 30, 2026.
Each wine shop applicant is required to pay a non-refundable tender fee of ₹3 lakh. The government has also provided reservation quotas for different communities: 15% for Gowda, 10% for SC, and 5% for ST candidates.
The move aims to regulate the liquor trade efficiently while ensuring fair opportunities for eligible applicants. Authorities have urged interested entrepreneurs to submit complete and accurate applications within the stipulated period to participate in the lottery. This initiative is part of the state’s broader plan to enhance revenue collection and organized retail management in the liquor sector.
