Rajasthan Man Arrested on Espionage Charges for Pakistan

Rajasthan Police arrest suspected Pakistani spy

Rajasthan man arrested on espionage charges for Pakistan in Jaisalmer on Thursday (September 25, 2025). The CID-Intelligence unit of Rajasthan Police caught 47-year-old Hanif Khan for allegedly leaking Army information to Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).

Khan, a resident of Basanpeer Jooni in Jaisalmer, had been under close watch for weeks. Rajasthan man arrested on espionage charges for Pakistan came after investigators noticed his suspicious movements near sensitive Army areas. CID teams discovered that he used social media to stay in contact with Pakistani handlers and passed on classified inputs for money.

IG CID Dr. Vishnukant revealed that Khan had direct access to border zones. During interrogation, officers found that he shared details about Army units, troop movements, and military installations. Evidence also suggested that he passed information during Operation Sindoor, making the case even more serious.

Technical analysis of his mobile phone confirmed regular communication with ISI contacts. Police said Khan admitted to receiving money in return for compromising national security. Based on concrete evidence, the CID registered a case under the Official Secrets Act, 1923, and arrested him.

Officials stressed that this is the fourth espionage case in Jaisalmer this year. Authorities believe cross-border networks are targeting vulnerable residents living near the border to extract sensitive military information.

The Rajasthan Police said surveillance has been stepped up in Jaisalmer and other frontier districts. They also warned locals against engaging with suspicious contacts online or offline. The Rajasthan man arrested on espionage charges for Pakistan highlights the need for vigilance and stronger counter-intelligence measures in border states.
