Rahul Gandhi begins four-nation South America

Rahul Gandhi has begun a four-nation visit to South America, aiming to strengthen diplomatic, trade, and cultural ties. He will meet political leaders, university students, and business communities during this strategic trip.

According to Congress’ media head Pawan Khera, Gandhi will visit Brazil and Colombia, with engagements planned in two other South American nations. Gandhi will meet Presidents and senior leaders to discuss cooperation on global and regional issues.

He will interact with university students in Brazil and Colombia to encourage dialogue with the next generation of leaders. The Congress said this is part of a broader effort to enhance people-to-people exchanges.

Gandhi will also meet business leaders to explore trade and investment opportunities. This aligns with India’s aim to diversify partnerships amid U.S. tariffs. Discussions will focus on trade, technology, sustainability, and innovation.

The Congress described Gandhi’s visit as historically significant. India and South America have a shared legacy through the Non-Aligned Movement and solidarity in the Global South. Gandhi’s outreach aims to continue this tradition while forging new avenues for cooperation.

The visit highlights the role of India’s democratic opposition in shaping foreign partnerships and strengthening India’s presence on the global stage. Gandhi’s South America trip reflects India’s intent to engage beyond traditional diplomatic circles and build deeper strategic relations.
