Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir are on high alert after reports of terrorists waiting at launch pads across the Line of Control (LoC) to infiltrate into the Valley. BSF Kashmir Frontier Inspector General Ashok Yadav said attempts to cross the border usually rise before winter. Terrorists try to move before snowfall, as infiltration becomes harder in harsh weather.
“There are still two months before heavy snow, so they will continue trying till November,” Yadav explained. He noted that despite constant attempts, security forces remain alert, making infiltration very difficult.
According to him, terrorists are waiting at launch pads opposite Bandipora and Kupwara sectors. They look for opportunities, often waiting for bad weather to make a move. However, the Army and BSF are fully prepared and watching the LoC closely.
Yadav stressed that both forces dominate the LoC with strong coordination and modern surveillance technology. He said infiltration attempts have already been foiled this year and warned that security will remain tight. “Because of the alertness, improved methodology, and new equipment, we are confident of handling any situation,” he added.
