BRS MLAs’ Disqualification Hearings Begin Before Telangana Assembly Speaker

Hyderabad: The Telangana Assembly Speaker, Gaddam Prasad Kumar , has commenced hearings on disqualification petitions filed against 10 BRS MLAs accused of party defection. The proceedings are being conducted under Schedule 10 of the Constitution. MLA T. Prakash Goud attended the hearing along with his legal team, while three other MLAs were absent initially. The Speaker has scheduled another round of hearings for these MLAs on October 1.

Each MLA’s hearing will last one hour. The tribunal will include the MLA, their lawyer, the petitioner MLA, and the petitioner’s counsel. Strict security measures have been imposed from Monday until October 6. Visitors, media representatives, former MLAs, and MPs are barred from entering the Assembly premises. Current MLAs are allowed entry only to their offices. Mobile phones are prohibited in the hearing hall, and any attempts to record or photograph the proceedings will result in confiscation, and responsible lawyers may be barred from participating.

Kale Yadayya: 12–1 PM

Gudem Mahipal Reddy: 1–2 PM

Bandla Krishnamohan Reddy: 3–4 PM
