In Andhra Pradesh, the ‘ Swarnandhra-Swachh Andhra ‘ initiative will culminate today with the presentation of cleanliness awards. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will personally confer the awards at Vijayawada at 5 PM. The program recognizes municipalities and villages that have demonstrated exemplary performance in sanitation, hygiene, and public cleanliness.
Among municipalities, six have been selected for their outstanding achievements: Mangalagiri-Tadepalli Corporation, Tadipatri, Bobbili, Palamaneru, Atmakur, and Kuppam. In the Gram Panchayat (GP) category, the awardees include Choudavada (Anakapalli), RL Puram (Prakasam), Lolla (Kona Seema), Challapalli (Krishna), Chennuru (Kadapa), and Kanamakulapalle (Chittoor).
These awards highlight the government’s commitment to promoting sanitation and sustainable cleanliness practices across urban and rural areas. Citizens, local leaders, and officials are expected to participate in the event, celebrating the efforts of communities that have set benchmarks in maintaining a clean and healthy environment.
