YSRCP President and former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy expressed deep anguish over the deaths of two tribal schoolgirls at Kurupam Gurukula School in Parvathipuram Manyam district. The deaths occurred after students consumed contaminated water from a malfunctioning RO plant, leaving several others seriously ill.
Jagan criticized the current government, questioning why, despite having numerous ministers, it failed to ensure student safety and proper school facilities. He highlighted that under his administration, government schools received essential amenities, including electricity, fans, furniture, digital panels, drinking water, and functioning RO plants, ensuring safe learning environments.
He accused the current regime of neglecting government schools, leading to deteriorating infrastructure and student health hazards. Demanding immediate action, Jagan called for Rs 25 lakh compensation for the families of the deceased girls and urged the Chief Minister to take moral responsibility, restore school facilities, and prioritize children’s health and safety.
