Anakapalle: Andhra Pradesh police have denied permission for former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s proposed road show in Anakapalle district. SP Tuheen Sinha stated that permission could not be granted for Jagan’s road journey from Visakhapatnam to Makavarapalem Medical College, covering a distance of about 63 km.

He cited security concerns and the recent Karur incident in Tamil Nadu as reasons for the decision. The SP added that authorities would consider allowing Jagan’s travel by helicopter instead of by road. However, former minister Gudivada Amarnath asserted that Jagan’s road show would proceed as planned, regardless of police denial.

The incident has sparked a political debate in the state, with YSRCP leaders alleging restrictions on their public outreach while maintaining that Jagan’s programs are peaceful and focused on connecting with the people.
