Hyderabad: With former Hyderabad Mayor Bonthu Rammohan announcing that he will not contest, the path has cleared for Naveen Yadav to secure the Congress ticket from the Jubilee Hills constituency. As a BC leader with strong local support, party sources suggest that the Congress high command is leaning toward his candidacy.
Naveen Yadav has been an active political figure in the region—he contested the 2014 elections on an MIM ticket, finishing second with over 41,000 votes, and secured the third position in 2018 with around 18,000 votes. In the 2023 election, he withdrew from the contest to support Congress candidate Azharuddin following a party request.
With his grassroots presence and past electoral experience, Naveen Yadav is emerging as the frontrunner for the Congress nomination in the upcoming Jubilee Hills by-election.
