Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh government has issued orders permitting the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) to acquire lands for Amaravati’s construction under the land acquisition policy. This decision applies to areas where land was not voluntarily given earlier under the land pooling scheme.
The government plans to acquire around 2,800 acres, but instead of issuing a single notification, the process will be carried out project-wise based on specific requirements. Officials stated that the move was necessary as the lack of available land in certain pockets has been delaying key infrastructure and development projects in the capital region.
By authorizing the CRDA to proceed with land acquisition, the government aims to expedite construction and overcome bottlenecks hampering Amaravati’s progress. The decision is seen as a renewed push to accelerate the long-stalled capital city development works.
