The 93rd Indian Air Force Day was celebrated at Hindon Air Force Station on Wednesday. The event honoured the bravery and dedication of men and women who protect India’s skies. This year’s celebrations paid special tribute to Operation Sindoor, a key milestone in IAF history.
Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, and Naval Chief Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi attended the ceremony. Air Chief Marshal Singh inspected the parade, showcasing air warriors and fighter jets on display for the spectators.
Operation Sindoor, launched on May 7, 2025, was a precise intelligence-driven strike in response to the Pahalgam attack. The IAF targeted nine terrorist camps in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and deeper inside Pakistan. Advanced indigenous platforms and the Integrated Air Command and Control System (IACCS) were used for real-time coordination.
In his Special Order of the Day, Air Chief Marshal Singh praised the force’s valour and rapid deployment capabilities. He said the operation reaffirmed air power’s critical role in modern warfare. The IAF continues to demonstrate India’s technological and strategic edge, ensuring national security and strengthening defence readiness.
