Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told former US President Donald Trump that “everyone is loving Israel again” after the announcement of the new ceasefire and hostage release deal with Hamas. Netanyahu called Trump soon after the announcement, and the US leader recalled their conversation in an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity.
Trump said the deal had united the world in support of Israel. “Israel cannot fight the world,” he told Netanyahu, adding that the agreement was a rare moment when global opinion shifted positively toward the Jewish state.
The former president credited the achievement to a mix of strategy, military action, and luck. He highlighted efforts against Iran’s nuclear ambitions and praised his team, including Jared Kushner, JD Vance, and Marco Rubio, for helping push the deal through. Trump also acknowledged the role of Arab nations, saying many countries unexpectedly supported the agreement.
The ceasefire and hostage release mark the first stage of Trump’s 20-point plan to bring peace to Gaza. Over 67,000 people have died since the conflict began, making this a crucial breakthrough. However, questions remain, and like past efforts, the deal could still collapse if not fully implemented.
