CM Yogi Adityanath Responds to US Tariffs at Bhadohi Carpet Expo, Vows Global Market Expansion
Speaking at the Bhadohi Carpet Expo, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath addressed concerns over the impact of U.S. tariffs on India’s carpet exports. In a strong message of resilience, he stated, “If one country imposes tariffs, we’ll open trade pathways with 10 others,” emphasizing the state’s commitment to expanding global market access for local artisans and exporters.
To support the industry, the CM announced the formation of a high-level government committee that will closely monitor international trade developments and formulate strategies to counter adverse impacts.
Bhadohi, known as the ‘Carpet City’ of India, plays a vital role in the country’s export economy. The Chief Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to protecting traditional industries, promoting skill development, and ensuring that artisans continue to thrive in the face of global trade challenges. The expo also showcased new designs and innovations by local weavers.
