John Campbell scores maiden Test century as West Indies fight back against India in second Test at Arun Jaitley Stadium.

John Campbell scored his maiden Test century, hitting 115 as West Indies reached 252/3 in 78 overs at lunch on day four of the second Test against India. The visitors trailed by just 18 runs at Arun Jaitley Stadium.

Campbell’s century is the first by a West Indies opener in India in 23 years. He shared a 177-run stand with Shai Hope, who remained unbeaten on 92, eight runs short of a century. Roston Chase supported with 23 not out.

West Indies dominated the morning session, adding 79 runs for the loss of Campbell. Despite testing spells from Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja, the pair kept the scoreboard ticking with singles and doubles. Campbell reached his milestone with a stunning slog-sweep over long-on and celebrated with his team.

After lunch, Hope and Chase continued the momentum. Chase struck a six and four to reduce the deficit under 50 runs. By lunch, West Indies had another solid session, keeping India under pressure after enforcing the follow-on.
