Sharm el-Sheikh (Egypt): Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif once again praised US President Donald Trump for helping stop the India-Pakistan conflict and brokering peace between Israel and Hamas. Speaking at a global peace conference in Egypt, Sharif said Trump “worked tirelessly” to bring peace and deserved the Nobel Peace Prize.
Sharif called the Gaza ceasefire “one of the greatest days in modern history,” after 20 Israeli hostages were freed following two years in captivity. He credited Trump’s efforts for the breakthrough, calling him “a genuine man of peace” who “made the world a safer place.”
Before Sharif’s speech, Trump praised Pakistan’s Field Marshal Asim Munir, calling him his “favourite field marshal.” Sharif then said, “Had Trump not intervened during Operation Sindoor, tensions between India and Pakistan—both nuclear powers—could have escalated dangerously.”
Sharif also credited Trump for preventing eight wars, including the Israel-Hamas conflict. Wrapping up his speech, he said, “God bless you, Mr. President. The world will remember you for your peace efforts.”
Trump, visibly moved, thanked Sharif and said, “That was beautiful. I have nothing more to add.”
