The Jubilee Hills by-election is being viewed as a strategic prelude to the upcoming Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections. All major political parties — Congress, BRS, and BJP — are treating this by-poll as a prestige battle that could shape the political balance in Hyderabad.
For the ruling Congress, victory in Jubilee Hills would reaffirm its urban strength and boost its prospects in the GHMC polls. The BRS, which currently holds the seat, aims to prove its continued relevance and show that its grip over Hyderabad’s electorate remains strong.
Meanwhile, the BJP is determined to reclaim lost ground, recalling its earlier performance of winning 48 divisions in GHMC, and hopes to hoist the saffron flag in Jubilee Hills as a symbol of resurgence.
