During Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Kurnool, several YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leaders met him at the Orvakal Airport and urged him to halt the proposed privatization of government medical colleges in Andhra Pradesh. The leaders expressed concern that such a move would hurt access to affordable medical education and limit opportunities for students from poor and middle-class families.

In addition, they requested the Prime Minister to consider including the Valmiki community in the Scheduled Tribes (ST) list and to review the proposal for constructing the Nandyal–Kalwakurthi bridge-cum-barrage, which they said would greatly benefit local development and irrigation.

The delegation included MLA Virupakshi , MLC Madhusudan , Zilla Parishad Chairman, and several other senior YSRCP members who submitted a formal representation to the Prime Minister.
