IndiGo to Purchase 30 More A350-900 Aircraft, Signs Engine Deal with Rolls-Royce
IndiGo, India’s largest airline, has announced plans to buy 30 additional Airbus A350-900 wide-body aircraft, marking a major step in its international expansion strategy. This move strengthens the airline’s focus on long-haul operations and signals its ambitions to become a global player.
Alongside the aircraft order, IndiGo has signed an agreement with Rolls-Royce to power its A350 fleet with the advanced Trent XWB-84 engines. These engines are known for their fuel efficiency and reliability, making them a popular choice for long-distance travel.
This order builds on IndiGo’s earlier wide-body aircraft deal and highlights its growing confidence in the international market. The A350-900 is capable of flying longer distances non-stop, enabling IndiGo to launch new routes to Europe, the U.S., and beyond.
Industry experts see this as a bold step that could reshape India’s position in global aviation. Deliveries are expected in the coming years.
