Punjab’s former DGP Mohammad Mustafa and his wife, ex-minister Razia Sultana, have been booked in the Punjab DGP Mohammad Mustafa son death case. Their 35-year-old son, Akil Akhter, was found dead at his Panchkula home on October 16 under suspicious circumstances. Initially, police found no foul play. However, later social media videos emerged, allegedly recorded by Akhter, expressing fear for his life and family-related disputes.
Following a complaint by Shamshuddin from Malerkotla, Haryana Police registered an FIR under Sections 103(1) and 61 (murder and conspiracy) of the BNS. Panchkula DCP Srishti Gupta confirmed the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to ensure a fair and scientific probe. The police assured full transparency and impartiality, vowing that no guilty person will escape punishment.
