In the first phase of the Bihar Election 2025, 1314 candidates are contesting for 121 seats across 18 districts. The Election Department confirmed that 1690 nominations were filed initially, but 315 were rejected and 61 candidates withdrew. Muzaffarpur and Kudhani have the highest number of candidates—20 each.
Voting for the first phase will be held on November 6, while the second phase will take place on November 11. Nominations for the first phase were accepted from October 10 to 17, and the withdrawal deadline ended on October 20.
Many well-known faces like Aditya Kumar (Congress) and Sakaldev Bind (VIP) withdrew their nominations to support alliance partners. Other withdrawals include leaders from BJP, RJD, BSP, and AAP, showing strategic shifts among major parties.
The first phase marks the beginning of a heated political battle in Bihar, where alliances and independent candidates alike are preparing for a close contest.
