The Bihar Elections 2025 first phase is ready for a big fight. After withdrawals closed on October 20, a total of 1,314 candidates will contest 121 seats across 18 districts. The election is set for November 6. Earlier, 1,690 nominations were filed, but 315 were rejected and 61 withdrawn during scrutiny.
Muzaffarpur and Kudhani top the list with 20 candidates each. Mahnar follows with 18, while Dumraon has 16. Simri Bakhtiyarpur, Mahua, Ujiarpur, Jamalpur, Tarari, and Buxar each have 15 contestants. The lowest—Bhore, Parbatta, and Alauli—record just five candidates each.
In Danapur, Tinku Kumar Yadav withdrew for his brother Reetlal Rai, while Kartar Singh Yadav from Dumraon stepped aside for his father Dadan Singh Yadav. Congress’s Aditya Kumar and VIP’s Sakaldev Bind also withdrew to support alliance partners. The final lineup shows intense multi-cornered contests across many seats, setting the stage for a heated political battle in Bihar.
