With Pakistan’s exit from the Women’s World Cup following their defeat to South Africa, the knockout schedule has now become clearer. The ICC, which had kept venues on hold, has decided that both the semifinals and the final will be held in India.
Earlier, ICC reportedly considered Sri Lanka as an alternate host for the semifinals or final in case Pakistan qualified, due to political and logistical concerns. However, with Pakistan now out of the tournament, the board is proceeding with its original plan.
The semifinals are scheduled for October 29 and 30, followed by the final on November 2, all to be played in India. With the home advantage and huge fan support, Indian cricket followers are eagerly awaiting Team India’s performance in the knockout stage.
