Andhra Pradesh Cracks Down on Unauthorised Constructions After BPS-2025
The Andhra Pradesh government has ordered the demolition of unauthorised constructions following the implementation of the Building Penalisation Scheme (BPS-2025). The move aims to prevent misuse of the newly introduced scheme, which allows property owners to legalise certain structures by paying a penal fee.
Officials in Amaravati emphasized that while BPS-2025 was designed to regularize non-compliant buildings, several properties have reportedly tried to exploit loopholes, prompting immediate action. The government has directed local authorities to identify and dismantle illegal structures that do not conform to approved plans or violate zoning regulations.
The demolition drive will focus on residential and commercial properties built without necessary approvals, with strict monitoring to ensure compliance. Officials have warned that continued violations will attract stringent legal action.
This crackdown underscores Andhra Pradesh’s commitment to urban planning norms and preventing encroachments, ensuring orderly city development and adherence to safety standards across the state.
