The Election Commission has ordered a full probe into the Mokama massacre during the Bihar elections. DGP Vinay Kumar was asked to submit a report on the killing of Jan Suraj activist Dularchand Yadav.
The clash began when Jan Suraj candidate Piyush Priyadarshi’s convoy met JDU leader Anant Singh’s supporters. Both sides argued, and soon violence broke out. Stones were thrown, shots fired, and vehicles damaged. Yadav was hit by a bullet and run over by a vehicle, dying on the spot.
Tension spread across Mokama after the killing. During Yadav’s funeral, RJD leader Suraj Bhan’s wife’s car was attacked with stones. Bhan and Veena Devi demanded the Election Commission’s action, while Anant Singh blamed Bhan for the unrest.
Tejashwi Yadav, Leader of the Opposition, questioned police inaction and demanded strict punishment for the culprits. The Mokama massacre has triggered political blame and calls for justice across Bihar.
