Assam CM Announces Launch of ₹1.78 Lakh Crore Projects to Boost Employment and Investment
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that projects worth ₹1.78 lakh crore are set to be launched in the State by December, aiming to accelerate economic growth and generate employment opportunities. Speaking at an investment summit in Guwahati, the CM highlighted that the inflow of capital and development projects would create avenues for youth to secure jobs locally, reducing the need to migrate to other states. Sarma emphasized that these initiatives span multiple sectors, including infrastructure, manufacturing, and technology, and are part of Assam’s broader strategy to attract investors and enhance industrial development. He also assured that the government is working to streamline regulatory processes to ensure timely execution and maximum impact of the projects. Officials noted that the ambitious investment drive positions Assam as a key economic hub in the Northeast, fostering sustainable growth and strengthening the region’s socio-economic fabric.
