A major tragedy struck Kasibugga on Karthika Ekadashi, when a massive stampede occurred at the Venkateswara Swamy temple. According to initial reports, seven devotees lost their lives, and several others sustained serious injuries during the incident.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu expressed deep shock over the stampede. He said the loss of devotees’ lives was extremely distressing and extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. He also wished for the speedy recovery of those injured.
The Chief Minister instructed local officials and public representatives to immediately visit the site and oversee the relief and rescue operations. He emphasized that every possible medical aid must reach the injured without delay.
The state administration has been put on high alert to manage the situation. Authorities are coordinating with temple officials to prevent further chaos and ensure public safety during ongoing Karthika Ekadashi celebrations.
