Adani Defence & Aerospace, a key player in India’s defence sector, has won the prestigious SIDM Champion Award 2025. The award recognizes the company’s excellence in design, manufacturing, and testing for its advanced Ammunition Complex in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh presented the award to Adani Defence in the presence of Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh. The recognition highlights the company’s innovation-driven manufacturing that supports India’s vision of “Made in India, Made for the World.”
Adani Defence CEO Ashish Rajvanshi said the award validates the company’s mission to build a self-reliant defence manufacturing ecosystem. The Kanpur Ammunition Complex, spread over 500 acres, uses Industry 4.0 automation and AI-based systems to ensure precision and safety in ammunition production.
The company plans to invest ₹7,000 crore to expand capabilities in drones, bulletproof jackets, and missile systems. Rajvanshi added that production of larger-calibre bullets will begin soon, strengthening India’s readiness for modern warfare and aligning with the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative.
