London-Bound Train Stabbing Leaves 10 Injured, One Suspect in Custody

London Train Stabbing Incident

A mass stabbing on a London-bound train left ten people injured on Saturday evening, with police confirming the arrest of one suspect. Nine of the victims are reported to have life-threatening injuries.

The incident occurred shortly after 7:30 pm local time on a train travelling from Doncaster to London’s King’s Cross Station, one of the busiest routes in the country. The British Transport Police (BTP) said the attack began soon after the train departed Peterborough.

Initially, two British nationals were detained on suspicion of attempted murder, but one was later released. A 32-year-old Black British man is now being treated as the sole suspect. BTP Superintendent John Loveless stated that the attack is not currently being treated as a terrorist act.

Eyewitnesses described scenes of chaos, with passengers hiding in lavatories and trying to flee. “There was blood everywhere,” one witness told The Times. Another passenger told Sky News that victims were shouting for help after being stabbed.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer condemned the “appalling incident,” expressing sympathy for the victims and praising emergency services for their swift response. He urged the public to follow police instructions.
