As Bihar gears up for the first phase of voting on November 6, Janshakti Janata Dal chief Tej Pratap Yadav has taken a sharp dig at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. Speaking in Mahua, from where he is contesting, Yadav mocked Rahul Gandhi, calling him a “confectioner” instead of a politician.
Yadav repeated the term several times during his speech. When asked by journalists, he doubled down, saying, “Catching fish, filleting them, and making jalebis are a confectioner’s job. After our victory, we’ll hire that same confectioner in Mahua and host a feast.”
He further promised a grand celebration after winning the Mahua seat. “We’ll organize a feast for all 36 panchayat members, and Rahul Gandhi will be the cook,” he quipped.
The remark followed a viral video showing Rahul Gandhi fishing in a pond with VIP leader Mukesh Sahni. Referring to the video, Yadav said, “Rahul Gandhi jumps into ponds to catch fish, sometimes he makes jalebis. If he enjoys cooking so much, why enter politics?”
In his trademark style, Yadav added that while the country faced darkness, Rahul Gandhi was busy fishing and riding motorcycles, “causing pollution.”
