Skill Development Scam: Government Blacklists 178 Training Partners for Irregularities
The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has blacklisted 178 training partners across the country after uncovering large-scale irregularities in government-funded skill development schemes. Penalties have been imposed and FIRs are being registered against several entities involved. According to ministry officials, Uttar Pradesh tops the list of defaulting states, followed by Delhi and Madhya Pradesh. The investigation revealed misuse of funds, fake beneficiary records, and non-compliance with training standards. The ministry has also initiated recovery proceedings to reclaim misused public money and ensure accountability within the skilling ecosystem. Officials said the action is part of a larger cleanup drive aimed at restoring transparency and credibility in national skill programs. The blacklisted partners will be barred from participating in any future government skill initiatives.
