Indian National Captured by RSF Militia in Sudan; Efforts Underway for His Release
An Indian national, Adarsh Behera, a 36-year-old resident of Odisha, has been captured by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia in Sudan after they seized control of the city of El Fasher last month. The Indian government has confirmed the incident and stated that it is in close contact with Sudanese authorities and international partners to secure Behera’s safe release. New Delhi has also assured that every effort is being made to ensure his well-being and early repatriation. The ongoing conflict between the RSF and the Sudanese army has led to widespread violence and instability, making rescue operations challenging. India has advised its citizens to avoid conflict zones in Sudan and remains committed to assisting those affected by the deteriorating security situation in the region.
