Tej Pratap Yadav Battles Alone in Bihar after being expelled from the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). The elder son of Lalu Prasad Yadav has formed his own party, Janshakti Janata Dal (JJD), and is contesting from his former seat, Mahua. His main rival is RJD’s outgoing MLA, Mukesh Kumar Roshan.

Tej Pratap has been campaigning tirelessly for his 35 party candidates across the state. During a rally in Nawada for JJD candidate Prakashveer, he accused several RJD leaders of betraying him. “Some people I trusted turned out to be Jaichands,” he said, adding that the true power lies with the people.

He recalled his father’s advice that meeting the public brings peace in difficult times. “You are our masters and God,” he told supporters, asking them to bless Prakashveer.

The conflict between Tej Pratap and his younger brother, Tejashwi Yadav, has become public. While Tejashwi addressed a rally in Mahua by helicopter, Tej Pratap later held his own rallies the same day. Their mother, Rabri Devi, called Tej Pratap “a blessing” but said she could not campaign for him. The brothers recently crossed paths at the airport and in a mall but did not speak.
