Premier Energies to Invest ₹5,942 Crore in Solar Manufacturing Hub in Andhra Pradesh
Premier Energies has announced an investment of ₹5,942 crore to establish a large-scale solar manufacturing hub at the Naidupeta Industrial Park in Nellore district, Andhra Pradesh. The new facility will house a 4 GW TOPCon solar cell unit and a 5 GW silicon ingot and wafer plant, making it one of India’s largest integrated renewable energy manufacturing projects. The initiative aims to boost domestic solar production, reduce import dependence, and support India’s transition toward sustainable energy. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister welcomed the investment, highlighting its potential to generate thousands of direct and indirect jobs and strengthen the state’s position as a clean energy leader. The project aligns with the Union government’s “Make in India” and “Atmanirbhar Bharat” initiatives, promoting self-reliance in renewable technology. Construction is expected to begin soon, with production scheduled to commence within the next few years.
