The Jyoti Singh FIR case has created a new political storm in Bihar’s Karakat Assembly constituency. Jyoti Singh, an independent candidate, now faces serious questions after officials accused her of breaking election rules. The Jyoti Singh FIR case started when officers checked a hotel on November 11 and found her campaign team there after polling ended.
Police visited the Vindhyavasini Hotel around midnight. They said that 18 to 20 campaigners stayed in the hotel even after the election work finished. Officers said this stay broke the Model Code of Conduct. The Returning Officer and the SDM filed the FIR, and the Bikramganj SDPO shared the details with the media.
Jyoti Singh strongly denied the charges. She posted a video on Facebook and said the raid was political harassment. She asked why the team entered the hotel at midnight. She also questioned why the police did not bring a female officer during the inspection.
Her statement triggered a sharp debate. Supporters said she faced unfair pressure. Critics argued that every candidate must follow election rules. The case now attracts wide attention in Bihar as both sides continue to present their claims.
